How do I know what colour paint I need for my car?

If you are looking to cover up a scratch or repair your paintwork then you'll need to make sure you can match it to the manufacturer's colour. Luckily car manufacturers provide a paint code to find the exact colour of car paint to cover up an unsightly scratch, you will need the following;

  • Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)
  • The colour code

Where can I find my paint code?

If you wish to find these numbers at home, you will need to find your VIN plate. Most often though, the paint code will be found on a plate/sticker inside the driver’s door or inside the glove box. See our diagram below for the most common places to check!
