MOT Classes

All vehicles fall into one of eight classes. To find the right MOT class you’ll need to know what type of vehicle you have, its weight and engine size. Most vehicles on the road are Class 4.

How much does an MOT cost at Halfords?

Book an MOT
You can book a Class 4 MOT or Class 7 MOT on the Halfords website, or just call up your local Halfords garage. You’ll be given a choice of MOT slots, with each MOT test taking around an hour to complete.
MOTs cost just £39.99 at Halfords but can be reduced to just £34.99 with your Halfords motoring club benefits, a massive saving on the DVSA maximum test fee. If you want to save even more, combine your MOT with an annual service. You’ll save substantial sums of cash as well as enjoy peace of mind that your car is safe for the journey ahead. We’ll use manufacturer-approved parts and complete all services according to the correct schedule. In the end, you’ll get that all-important stamp in the service book.
